Homemade chicken liver pâté…. A few things about Liver (& organ meats)
* Liver is a rich source of antioxidants and helps your own liver remove toxic substances in the body (which in today’s world where most non-organic products/cosmetics/ food contains toxins – it’s a much needed food to bring back to the table)
* Liver once a day for a pregnant women will provide optimum nutrients to her and her unborn baby
* Wild animals eat the organs of their kill first being the most nut…ritious part (clearly showing a superior wisdom to our own!)
* Liver is rich in fat soluble vitamins A&D as well as essential fatty acids. A lot to stomach for some at first but by adding a few strong flavours like onion/garlic etc something like a liver pâté is a great option to start with !

500g Organic Chicken Liver
1 x Onion
2 bulbs garlic
Organic Full Fat Butter
Melt some butter in a pan and fry off the onion and garlic until soft – add the chicken livers and brown for approximately 10 minutes they should still be a little pink in the middle – turn off the heat and let cool. Add to a food processor with some softened butter and season to taste. Blend it to the smoothness that you like. Meanwhile in a different pan melt some organic butter. Store the pate in a glass or ceramic container, pour the melted butter to cover the top and store in the fridge ……. perfect mid week snack !
